When we choose to build a business from home, somehow some people assume it will be easy…
They expect that it will be working without any or with little effort on their part.

We have to get rid of the instant gratification mentality if we want to own our lives.
We need skills, we need consistency and we need to be motivated just to name a few.

I use traffic exchanges for my business and I’m amazed by what I see every day. No wonder some people think this is an easy business.
I’ve seen everything from ”it will sell itself” to ”free money” to ”no investment required” to ”automated profit with no work required”

Are you kidding me? This is the real world, my friends!

If the product sells itself, then why would the company need you? If nobody spends any money then where is the money coming from?

What if I would ask you how much money you want to make a month and let’s assume you’d say $25,000.
That is about $800/day .
Now take a look at what you do for your business every day, and think of yourself as your own employee. Would you pay an employee $800 at the end of today for the same work you’ve just put into your business?

I see people quitting every day, and I’ve heard quite a few excuses…Best one of all is ”I need money fast. This is taking too long…”
We are so used to getting that check every 2 weeks from our J.O.B. that we expect the same thing to happen in Network Marketing . We wait two weeks, nothing happens and the we quit.

Here is the difference:
In a J.O.B. we are exchanging time for money.
However, in Network Marketing we exchange time for results. The difference is huge, especially when we understand that actions are needed before the results can come.

Another thing that we hang on to when we make the transition from a JOB to a home based business is the misconception that we do not need peoples skills.
We do need them and in order to master people skills we first have to work on ourselves first.
That is the part where unfortunately, reading a great book like Think and Grow Rich seems unnecessary and very time consuming to some of us…

Or how about missing that soap opera episode? That seems taboo for some people…
My mentor once said : ”Whatever happens in that episode does not matter
That is so true and yet we always find time for a TV show, and never enough time to improve ourselves.

Another thing that some people don’t understand is that a business is not a punch in and punch out 9-5 job.
We need to be prepared for a very different schedule that varies from day to day. To make that work we need organizing skills and discipline.

I used to get upset when people gave me excuses.
One day I asked my mentor what I should do when someone gives me an excuse:

This is exactly what he said :
”Daniela, write this down: ”Any excuse will do, and that is a great one.”
It worked! I even used it on myself from time to time…

Try saying that, say it to yourself every time you feel like quitting.
And if you think this business does not require any effort, then this is not for you. Don’t waste your time and money because it will not work.

At a job, a boss holds us accountable and we do everything in our power to keep that job.
Why can we only be held accountable by someone else and not be able to hold ourselves accountable to own our lives.

Oh…and one more thing…
Did you know that there are on average 80% more people applying for a $40.000/ per year job than people applying for a $40,000 per month job? I added that just so you know that the ”too much competition” excuse does not work either.

Here is a great tip from Tom Big Al Schreiter Newsletter .
Big Al always makes sense. And wait till you meet him…
His workshops are absolutely AMAZING and so is he.

Are You a Coach and a Mentor? Or just a lousy sponsor?

Consider these definitions.

To be a coach, you don’t have to know how to do what you are coaching. Many coaches simply listen to their distributors and tell the distributors they already know what to do and how to do it. As coaches, they simply hold the distributors accountable for their actions.

These coaches don’t have to be good sponsors, good presenters, or good leaders. They simply hold the distributors accountable, and attempt to motivate them into action by talking about their “Why,” etc.

To be a mentor, you should already have the skills the distributor seeks to learn. In this case, the distributor does not have certain skills and experiences, and seeks the answers from the mentor. The mentor is not responsible for motivating or holding the distributor accountable. The mentor assumes the distributor already is highly motivated and will put the lessons into action.

To be a mentor, you must first master the skills the distributor seeks. And if you master the skills, the distributor seeks you.

And what if the distributor is not self-motivated?

Well, the distributor won’t be seeking you out.

Are you simply a coach that talks a good talk? Or are you a coach that motivates distributors to take action? Are you a mentor that has mastered skills and can pass them on to self-motivated people?

Or, are you simply a lousy sponsor that recruited a distributor and quickly moved on to finding your next new distributor?”

Most people in this industry use the “Hope and Pray Formula.” That means…

* Most people just put up a website and HOPE for sales.

* Most people assume and PRAY that the rest of the world wants what they’ve got to sell, and will buy it the moment they see it. (…just this once!)

* Most people have heard of those OTHER PEOPLE who have made real money online, think they’re just LUCKY, and hope that they can get lucky, too.

So unfortunately, most people never find the success they’re hoping and praying for.

ON THE OTHER HAND…other people realize that…

If you could plant a seed for an apple tree, would you expect it to sprout apples the first day?

Of course not, right?

You know that the seed has to sprout, the tree has to grow, and then the tree bears some fruit.

Your business is just like an apple tree.  You have to plant the seeds of promotion, allow them to sprout, allow the tree to grow, and then you can harvest the tree for fruit (your profits).

So, let’s start by planting some seeds…

Now, does this mean that you should start emailing your brother, your sister, your high school teacher, your best friend and your grandma?

Heck no!

Anyone who tells you to do that is really leading you down the wrong path.  If you start pestering people who aren’t interesting in building a business you’ll soon end up in the NFL club: “No Friends Left!”

Instead…promote to people that already know the meaning of residual income, people that are already involved.
And remember that it takes skills and it takes PATIENCE.

Wishing and praying that things will happen without any action on your part will not take you anywhere.
Building a business takes work, it even says it in the name: NetWORK Marketing.
Whoever tells you otherwise is lying to you.
Instant gratification needs to be out of your vocabulary if you really want to own your life!

I’m sure most of us network marketers placed ads when promoting our business.
Most of us don’t know the basics of writing an effective ad and we also forget what is most important.

I subscribe to Tom Big Al Schreiter free newsletter.
I get some of the most amazing emails from him and I wanted to share part of one of the most recent ones.

”The object of your ad is to generate a phone call.
Many ads sell, sell, and sell.

These ads sell the business opportunity, the compensation plan, the products, the founders, the upline support and the terrific training. However, most of these ads forget one thing:
The object of your ad is to generate a phone call.

Few prospects will read a five-line classified ad and decide to join your business. Few prospects will look at an impressive graphic in a full-page ad and decide to join your business.

When writing our ads, we must keep our objective in mind – to generate a phone call.
This will help us focus our ad copy and headlines.

Instead of getting carried away with our terrific compensation plan and printing out the entire payout plan, maybe we can use that same space to put in a testimonial that will motivate the prospect to call. See the difference?

When we know our objective, our ad design gets easier. And, our ad results get better.

Want an example?
Don’t say:

“Our opportunity offers 2.2% more bonus on kryptonite products
through six levels of directors.”

Instead say:

“Call now to find out how you can earn an extra $300 this week.
Remember to ask for your free bonus gift.”

The first statement informs the prospect . . . sort of.
The second statement motivates the prospect to make a call. ”

What Were You Thinking?

This is such a critical success key in our business and throughout our lives.

Reset your thinking as appropriate and you will attract into your lives much more powerful results aligned with your purpose and who you really are.

It’s so amazing to me how most people get stuck in the poverty state of mind.
I remember watching a show called ”Homeless in Paradise”.
The cameraman was following and interviewing homeless people in the Los Angeles area.

I listened to how one of the people interviewed answered when he was asked how he sees his future and what his goals are .
His answer was stunning to me, and I’m quoting his exact words:

”What my aspirations are? Well…sometimes I’m thinking about getting a job and being able to have a hotel room so I can be able to close the door…
… Where do I see myself in 5 years?….In 5 years I WISH SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN BUT IT PROBABLY WON’T so… ( pointing to the street)… I’ll still be here.”

How sad is the fact that this man will probably never know that the real problem is in his way of thinking. Do you think he has any chance of a better life with that kind of thinking?
Once you accept poverty as part of who you are you’ll be stuck there forever.

I believe that we all posses the formula for Deliberate Attraction. Ask yourself : ”What do I want?” And make that happen.
Wishing and hoping that our lives will get better will not get us anywhere. Action is what will pave the road to success, and action start with a simple thought that fortunately we are able to choose.
